Overview
Compassionate Divorce, a California divorce mediation service operating within a family law practice based in Santa Rosa, California, is seeking a Social Media Intern for Fall 2026, with the potential to develop into a longer-term internship opportunity.
This internship offers hands-on experience in digital marketing, brand development, and strategic communications within the legal and family services field. The selected intern will assist in strengthening Compassionate Divorce’s online presence, expanding engagement with potential clients, and increasing visibility within the broader legal and professional community.
This is an excellent opportunity for a student interested in social media marketing, digital communications, branding, or legal services to gain practical experience in a professional setting.
Time Commitment & Structure
- Flexible schedule of up to 10 hours per week
- 100% remote
- Project-driven work structure with flexibility in scheduling
- Mandatory monthly Zoom meetings to present findings, analytics, and strategic recommendations
- Additional meetings may be scheduled as needed
Primary Responsibilities May Include
- Reviewing and analyzing Compassionate Divorce’s current social media presence, including identifying strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for growth
- Researching target client demographics and audience engagement trends
- Conducting competitive analysis of similar legal, mediation, and family service organizations
- Evaluating traffic, reach, and engagement across social media platforms
- Assisting with the creation of digital content, including written posts, graphics, and short-form video
- Writing captions and messaging consistent with Compassionate Divorce’s voice, mission, and professional standards
- Developing creative engagement strategies to increase audience interaction and visibility
- Monitoring social media accounts for comments, messages, and engagement opportunities, while maintaining professionalism and sensitivity appropriate to family law-related communications
- Researching emerging platforms, tools, and digital marketing trends
- Assisting with content scheduling and social media planning
- Preparing periodic reports summarizing findings, engagement metrics, and strategic recommendations
- Completing additional related tasks as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with major social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and similar channels
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management
- Ability to analyze engagement data and communicate findings clearly
- Experience with graphic design, video editing, or content creation tools (such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, or similar platforms) preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Prior academic, internship, volunteer, or work experience related to marketing, communications, media, or content creation is a plus
- Professionalism, discretion, and thoughtful communication in a client-sensitive environment
- Self-motivated, reliable, and comfortable working independently while meeting deadlines in a remote work environment
