Velvet Ditch Villas is a boutique short-term rental and hospitality company based in Oxford, Mississippi, managing a curated portfolio of 100–115 unique properties. Our brand is rooted in elevated guest experiences, design-forward spaces, and luxury-level storytelling through visual marketing. We create lifestyle-driven content that captures the emotion and experience behind every stay.

Position Overview

This part-time internship supports our Social Media Manager by producing original, high-quality visual content to elevate our presence across Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and emerging platforms. The role emphasizes creative storytelling, cinematic videography, and lifestyle photography aligned with the Velvet Ditch Villas brand aesthetic.

Key Responsibilities

  • Capture professional photography and cinematic video across multiple properties

  • Create short-form vertical content (Reels, TikTok, Stories) aligned with trends

  • Collaborate on creative direction and storytelling concepts

  • Assist in planning and executing branded content shoots

  • Edit photo and video for social media publishing

  • Research emerging trends and contribute new content ideas

  • Organize digital media assets and maintain content libraries

  • Attend select property visits or local events for lifestyle content capture

Qualifications

  • Current student in IMC, Marketing, Media Production, Journalism, or related field

  • Basic photography or videography experience

  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and trends

  • Creative eye for storytelling and design

  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently

  • Preferred: Experience with CapCut, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, Canva, Lightroom, etc.

Internship Structure

  • Part-time (flexible scheduling; several hours per week)

  • Opportunity for academic credit (if applicable)

  • Oxford, MS preferred; some on-site content capture required

Mentorship & Collaboration

The intern will work closely with Velvet Ditch Villas leadership, our Social Media Manager, and marketing and operations teams, gaining direct insight into brand strategy and real-world marketing execution.
