Overview

Overview of Positive Athlete:  Positive Athlete is a national brand/movement shining the light on high school athletes who have overcome difficult circumstances or give back to their schools and communities in a significant way.  Based in Atlanta, over 10,000 nominations of high school athletes in multiple sports categories are received annually and thousands of dollars in college scholarships are given away each year. Positive Athlete has relationships with multiple sports leagues, teams and national sports governing bodies.   https://positiveathlete.org/

Internship Opportunities: Students will be assigned to build nominations in a specific sport(s) which will include building relationships with high schools and national sport governing bodies. Available sports specializations are as follows:  Baseball/Softball, Football; Soccer/Lacrosse; Basketball; Golf/Tennis; Swimming/Volleyball; Hockey/Wrestling; Track & Field/Cross Country; or Cheerleading/Gymnastics. Interns will also assist with the Positive Athlete “Lessons in Positivity” videocasts featuring high-profile professional and Olympic stars from their specific sport.  Although working on a specific sport, all interns will assist the group with grades nominations, posting Social Media, and updating high school contact lists.

College Credit Opportunities

Part-Time 100 Hours – 2 credits (Assigned Sport Specific opportunity)

Full-Time 150 Hours – 3 credit (Choice of Sports Specific opportunity)

Sports Career Development – Each intern will receive bi-weekly career counseling from Positive Athlete President/CEO Scott Pederson in an effort to build the students connections in the sports world, guidance on career direction, and be in position for top consideration when potential full-time job opportunities with Positive Athlete become open in the future.
