The Department of Campus Recreation at the University of Mississippi is seeking dynamic and talented individuals to help us achieve our vision of being a flagship collegiate recreation program. We will be hiring a Marketing Graduate Assistant position for the 2024-2025 academic year
Qualifications:
Acceptance into the University of Mississippi Graduate School in pursuit of a Master’s Degree in a related field. Note: Students pursuing online graduate degree programs will not be eligible for a graduate assistantship. Salary Range:
First year is a $12,938 stipend with eligibility to increase to $13,338 for the second year. The position is a nine-month appointment (August to May) with summer hourly employment available. All positions have a preferred start date of July 8, 2024. Mandatory start date for all positions is August 12, 2024. Assistantship includes an out-of-state tuition waiver and health insurance benefits.

Graduate Assistant – Marketing:
The Graduate Assistant will report to the Coordinator of Marketing and assist with all departmental marketing efforts. Responsibilities include collaboration with professional staff, graduate assistants, and student employees to design and coordinate program promotions, overseeing the creation and distribution of marketing materials, and developing relationships with targeted campus and community groups. This position will lead the recruitment, training, supervision and evaluation of Marketing Program Assistants. Other duties include assisting with maintaining the department website, closed circuit television ads, and social media sites, identifying partnership needs for the department, and building, maintaining, and evaluating advertising partner relationships. Additional responsibilities include assisting with evaluation of programs, facilitating professional development experiences for student employees, and serving on departmental committees and special event work teams. Evening and weekend work will be required. Other duties may be assigned that assist the overall mission of the department.
Qualifications:
At least one year of involvement as an undergraduate student in marketing, campus recreation, sports marketing, or a related field is required. Effective oral and written communication skills are required. Experience with photo and video editing software and project management/content design platforms (Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop, Canva, Trello, or similar) is preferred.
