Examples of Work Performed

  • Provides support in developing, designing, editing and disseminating communication content and messages.
  • Participates in social media outreach.
  • Assists in creating content for a variety of communication platforms, including but not limited to print publications, press releases, brochures, social media, posters, campus campaigns, videos and exhibits.
  • Assists in the preparation, organization, set-up, and break-down of special events.
  • Works closely with department leadership in order to maintain a continuous knowledge of project status and ensure that all processes and procedures are completed in a timely manner.
  • Interviews faculty, staff, and students as needed to assist in the development of marketing materials.
  • Stays abreast of best-practice methods and ideas across various mediums, communication vehicles, messages, and tactical approaches to initiatives.
  • Assists in identifying and pursuing media opportunities.
  • Greets and assists visitors to the library, determines patron or caller needs and answers a variety of inquiries regarding library services and activities.
  • Conducts basic research as it relates to departmental needs.
  • Performs similar or related duties as assigned, or required.

Essential Functions

These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.

  1. Assists in creating and implementing public relations initiatives.
  2. Provides support in developing communication vehicles, delivering content and messages, and interacting with various departments across campus concerning media outreach.
  3. Assists in identifying and pursuing media opportunities.

Minimum Education/Experience

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Journalism, Communications, English, or a related field.

AND

Experience:
Six (6) months experience related to the above described duties.
